In a dramatic incident in the Devmali area under Dhanirampur Number One Gram Panchayat of Falakata block, a mentally unstable young man, Biplab Roy, climbed a tower with high voltage wires. The situation created panic among the residents, who promptly alerted the police and fire brigade.
Eyewitnesses reported that Biplab had been wandering around the tower for some time before deciding to climb it. Concerned for his safety, residents immediately informed the Jateshwar Chowki police and Falakata Fire Brigade.
Upon receiving the information, police personnel and fire brigade officers rushed to the scene. It took them nearly two hours of effort and coordination to convince the young man to come down safely. After a tense period, Biplab finally descended, and both the locals and authorities breathed a sigh of relief.
The incident ended without injury, but it highlighted the risks posed by such situations involving individuals with mental health issues. The police have assured that the young man will receive appropriate care.
